The Conference will take place in the Pre-Clinical Teaching Building (the PCT), of the Medical School, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.

Here is a map showing the Johns Hopkins University Medical Campus, the Pre-Clinical Teaching Building is located in I4, on North Wolfe and East Madison.

Parking is very limited on campus. We would encourage delegates to use public transport or taxis wherever possible.

Hotels near the Conference

The conference location is approximately half a mile from central Baltimore. There are many hotels available around Mt Vernon and Inner Harbor, and some great places to eat. The Inner Harbor area has a great night time atmosphere, with many eating and drinking locations. There are often exhibitions on the waterfront, and some fascinating things to see.

About the same distance to the south of the campus is area known as Fells Point: a younger area that’s seen a lot of recent investment in its many hotels, bars and restaurants. AirBnB has some great locations (including a yacht!) both there, and nearer the campus.

Johns Hopkins Hospital also provides a comprehensive list of accommodations at

We would advise against walking from your hotel to the Conference, because of distance. An Uber ride from Inner Harbor, Mt Vernon or Fells Point will only take a few minutes and cost less than $10. Generally, Baltimore is well-served with mass transit options: in particular, the light rail from BWI to Inner Harbor is fast and runs every half hour – fare is approximately $2. The main Amtrak station – Baltimore Penn (a real treat for early 20th century architecture fans) – is just north of Mt Vernon, and about a mile north of Inner Harbor, and is well-served with cabs, light rail and buses.
